Meet Rya
RYA is a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and performer with Rockford roots, a soulful voice, and a genuine love for bringing people together through music. Her sound moves effortlessly through soul, rock, alternative influences, and heartfelt ballads, with a little grit, a lot of heart, and plenty of room for the unexpected.
Music first found her as a kid, sitting on her bedroom floor discovering artists and sounds far beyond what she heard on the radio. She began singing in high school, and somewhere along the way, loving music turned into realizing she had something of her own to share. In 2022, she stopped waiting for the right time and decided to truly pursue it.
Even her name carries a piece of that story. RYA is what her family called her growing up. Later, she discovered its connection to words like friend, dream, vision, and singer, making it feel perfectly suited for the artist she was becoming.
At the heart of RYA's music are two things: love and truth. She writes from life, faith, family, relationships, questions, joy, grief, and all the beautifully complicated places in between. Whether she's writing an original song or stepping onto a stage, her goal is simple: be present, make it real, and leave a little more light in the room than there was before.
